March Mornings on the Bloor Viaduct

By | March 4, 2010

If other east end cyclists who take the Viaduct on their morning commute are at all like me, they are loving that the sun is now rising earlier and basking the bridge in sunlight.

The above photo and the first 3 photos below are from yesterday when the sun was happily peaking through the clouds.  The last two photos below are from this morning, when it was even sunnier!  I usually cross the viaduct around 7:30 am.

Nothing like getting your morning off to a great start than a bike ride in sunshine. :)

What are the signs of spring that you like to see on your commute at this time of year?

A sign of spring I’ve recently noticed are relaxed shoulders on cyclists. All winter, you tense up a little, ready for unexpected ice, cold winds and splashes of salty slush. But, once the winds calm and the air is warm you quickly relax and enjoy your ride that little bit more. Walking along Bloor a few minutes ago the relaxed shoulders of our city cyclist really stand out.
