Add to that the fact that Jarvis was going to lose a lane anyway – the original proposal was for either a centre median or widened sidewalks.
I am curious to know what Thomson's bikelane plan includes – she says there should be a bikelane every 2 or 3 streets – which is fine downtown, but [...]

Right now, at this very instant, I wouldn't want my kids to bike along Jarvis (If I had any). But, this isn't about putting bike lanes on a highway, this is about ending Jarvis' reign as a highway up to the Rogers Death Star and including bike lanes on a redesigned street.
