  1. Hi everyone,

Every winter, I generally take stock of BikingToronto and update the design of the site and figure out what's working well and what's working not-so-well.

With the success of the forum, I'd like to add more interactivity to the site to make is as useful for Toronto cyclists as possible... but I need your help.

What do you want to see from BikingToronto in 2010? Is there a feature you wish it had? Have you seen another website (cycling-related or otherwise) with a cool feature you love that could be used for cyclists in Toronto?

Feel free to express and and all ideas here.

If 2010 follows the pattern of the past few years, we are going to see another large increase in cycling on the roads of Toronto... so the more useful BikingToronto is for everyone, the better!

  2. I like the setup here, please avoid the route taken by many other forums and keep the last post ALWAYS at the bottom. This place is much easier to follow than I Bike TO or Torontoist etc.

  3. Good point Angus. I too find "reverse" or "threaded" comments and discussions hard to follow. The way we have the forum set up is nice and intuitive, I think. :)

  4. I like the setup here as well and it is much easier to follow the threads than at a lot of the forums I visit. What would I like to see? Maybe some links to maps for biking trails, news on what trail has work being done on it? This may already exist but I usually somewhere but I use Google if I want to find a bike route. M/be some information on any obstacles. An example: In August this year someone told me about the bike path near the Don River so I used that one to go northward. I found out that there's no easy exit. There is a bike wheel guide to help push the bikes up the stairs at Queen, Dundas & Riverdale but having had major back surgery and still recovering, I wasn't prepared for that so I went back to the Lakeshore path and then exited at Parliament Street to go north and home.

  5. Hey everyone... things are progressing well on the plans for BikingToronto for 2010... but one thing I am having trouble with is integrating this forum into the new set-up.

So, here's a question for you:

If the site has more opportunities for discussion (both on the blog and in a forum), would you be okay with helping us re-connect and re-build this great forum?

I've been so impressed by the passion and interest by the people on this forum that I just want to keep on making BikingToronto better and better for all of you (and all the cyclists in Toronto who have yet to participate on the forum).
