  1. There's a quote in this video which is fantastic... and to paraphrase, it says something like "while not all of us live in NYC in reality... we live there nonetheless. Our TV shows are set there, our movies are set there... NYC is popular culture" and NYC's huge transformation towards bike-friendliness may mean that in a few years, we'll all be trying to emulate it.

    • "I think this is the decade that it's all going to come together."

I don't know if it's going to have the same effect on you, but this video made me hopeful that things are changing. There's still a lot of work to be done, but there's finally a solid movement for walkable and bikeable cities, and it's good to see that NYC is getting on board because whatever happens there will be seen by everybody else around the US and the world. In the video, the Streetfilms crew and Rep. Blumenauer (who sometimes bikes to the White House) ride around town and look at some good and bad bike lanes, and discuss the future, including the upcoming transportation bill.

  2. I've seen enough of NYC's new infrastructure that I think this spring it'll be time to go down and see for myself. Who's up for a bike tour of NYC sometime in mid to late May?

  3. We may be up for that... there's some stuff coming up in the spring, but Tracy and I definitely want to re-visit NYC! :)
