  1. Awesome new service by the City of Toronto (well, let's hope it turns out to be awesome...) to make it easier for residents to find out and request non-emergency services, just by dialing "311":

    • 311 Toronto is a simple, three-digit phone number that you can use to get information about City services or programs, or to make a request for service. Residents, visitors and businesses no longer have to try to find the right division or individual at the City to get information or help. Callers can get information about everything from Toronto Public Library hours of operation, to reporting a missed garbage pick-up, to finding out where the closest flu clinic is located.

How does this impact cyclists? Here are some ideas:

    - request to fix potholes
    - request to clear bikelanes of snow
    - request a post-and-ring for parking

Do you have ideas how 311 can be used by cyclists?

  2. I asked them (via twitter) to confirm about requesting post-and-rings as well as getting bikelanes snowplowed... and it's a yes to both!

Yes! Call 311 for both (post-and-rings & getting bikelanes snowplowed)
