Welcome to the first monthly newsletter of the BikingToronto Forum. The purpose of this newsletter is to let you, a person who cares enough about cycling in Toronto to register on the Forum, what's going on in the forum and connect you with some of your fellow forum-ers.
To start off this first newsletter, I'd like to do some very quick introductions:
I'm Joe. I started BikingToronto.com back in Jan. 2006 to write about my cycling travels around Toronto. It has since evolved into Toronto's largest cycling website with lots of info about news, events and photos. The Forum has been around since late June 2009.
Todd is one of our forum moderators. Moderators monitor forum discussions to make sure everything stays respectful and constructive. Todd lives in East York and has a job that takes him to many places around the world where he likes to check out cycling infrastructure.
Duncan is also a moderator in the forum. As well, Duncan writes his own blog on BikingToronto. You can find it at http://www.bikingtoronto.com/duncan If you want to write a blog on BikingToronto, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org Duncan lives in North Toronto.
The Michael Bryant / Darcy Allan Sheppard Altercation
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this. This story broke on Sept. 2nd, and the forum discussions about it are lively and active. The whole situation brings up questions about sharing the road, cyclist/driver relations, and road rage.
Forum Topic on the Altercation:

Forum Topic on the Memorial for the killed cyclist:
