Cool idea for a cycling vacation!
- Cycling enthusiasts with a true sense of adventure can ride the Silk Road throughout Asia. These trips allow travelers to bike along the same ancient routes covered by Marco Polo and other traders and explorers throughout the past 3,000 years.
The Silk Road is comprised of over 4,000 miles of routes extending through many Asian countries including China, Nepal, India, Kygystan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Russia, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq and Turkey.
Bicycle excursions can vary between easy pedaling on relatively flat areas of China to strenuous riding through the Tien Shan Mountains in western China, Kyrgystan and Kazakhstan. These trips also provide travelers with a unique opportunity to experience Asian cultures not often seen by foreigners.
