I agree Jeff... as long as you have a thermos cup with a pretty good lid, things should be okay, even over bumps.

My cruisers big comfy seat and fat tires actually smooth out a bumpy road quite nicely, like a big old Cadillac. the fat tires also make me invulnerable to streetcar tracks. I love it. I really want one of these cup holders for riding to work in the morning. :^)

I like it! Tunes would be good for the ride but I'm not among those who feel comfortable wearing headphones and riding. Not sure about the cup, though. I like the *idea* of it but I think I'd still be spilling like crazy cruising quickly over the potholed roads.

Now in my utopia where my commutes are short enough that I don't have to ride quickly, and where the roads are completely smooth, I can see myself switching to a nice cruiser or dutch bike and attaching one of those.

One of the Globe bloggers in the US has one of these. I didn't expect to see it available in Toronto for some reason. Excellent news that Urbane has one.

Here's the Globe blogger's setup:

Yeah, that's a boombox in the front rack.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RExzQBej1Dw

This would make a fantastic Christmas gift for so many people I know!

From NOW Magazine:

FELT handlebar cup holder

If you need a jolt of java while you ride, mount FELT’s cup holder ($25, Urbane Cyclist, 180 John, 416-979-9733, ucycle.com) on your handlebars but beware cycling with scalding coffee down speed bump-pocked streets!
