In February 2010, I decided to sell my car, and go by bike. When I started looking for information and inspiration to help me on my way, I didn’t find many other locals who are in the same situation as we are. Through this blog, I hope to document the process so that I can help to inspire someone else to do the same.
Two important things to know about me, so you might better understand what I’m writing about:
1) I’m a hardcore DIYer. That is to say, that if it’s possible for me to do it myself, I will. This extends into all areas of my life, and I never pass on an opportunity to learn and try something new.
2) Prior to February 2010, I was not a cyclist. I had a bike, that sat unloved and uncared for in my back yard for many years. I used it infrequently for brief recreational rides, and more than once considered sending it to the scrapyard.
