Description
CBN is now offering classes in bike repair that build on our introductory (‘Flat-fix and Tune-up’) class. Registrants should be familiar and comfortable with the subject of that class before taking the intermediate class(es).
The classes are taught by experienced mechanics and provide an intimate, focused, learning environment. The number of participants is limited to 6 per class.
The class outline is structured and focused to cover as much as possible in a relatively short amount of time. As a beginner to bike repair, we expect you will learn a lot and come away feeling much more comfortable with the workings of your machine. It is also an ideal refresher for someone who has taken a class in the past, or has some limited, but spotty experience. You will almost certainly learn some new techniques and tricks.
Intermediate Workshops do not have to be taken together or in any particular order.
Please bring your bike if possible. You will probably get dirty, so dress accordingly!
Registration is required with an advance payment. You are not registered until confirmed in person with the deposit in our hands. Payment can be made in cash, or through Paypal on this website (see the Pay by Paypal option on the left of this page).
The classes will BEGIN at 7pm, please plan to arrive no less than 5 minutes before.
Bike Repair – Bearings and Wheels – Details:
Maximum 6 participants.
Bearing Adjustment: Review (from basic class) of how to identify need for adjustment. How to adjust, how to identify need for overhaul (but not how to). Demonstration and hands-on.
Spoke Replacement and Wheel Truing: Very basic introduction to minor wheel truing and how to replace a spoke (barring other damage). Demonstration only.
