Seeing Cyclops in September

September 16: DIY Bike Trailer Workshops begin. Sign up now to learn how to make your very own Clay & Paper Theatre bicycle cargo trailer. Cyclops will be on hand to show you how it’s done.

September 17: Night of Dread Community Planning Meeting Join us at Dufferin Grove Park to get involved with planning this amazing event. Tell us all of your deepest and darkest fears from 2010, and we’ll include them in this year’s Night of Dread. Dufferin Grove Rink House, 6:30 -8:30PM.

September 18: DPNC Bike Clinic Join us at Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood Centre’s Bike Clinics. Get free repairs, join group rides, and see CYCLOPS perform, from 12-2PM. Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood Centre, 1900 Davenport Road (in the back garden)

September 19: Bicycle Music Festival Toronto’s inaugural pedal-powered, mobile music festival! The festival will move between various parks in Toronto’s west end before culminating at Dufferin Grove Park. Trinity Bellwoods Park, Dovercourt Park and Dufferin Grove Park,1:30-7PM See the facebook event for venues and times.

September 22: Car Free Day Toronto is joined by more than 1,500 cities around the world that are committed to raising awareness on sustainable mobility by celebrating International Car Free Day. Join CYCLOPS for Car Free Day, as well as  live performances from “Parking Space Paradise”  across from Trinity Belwoods Park, time TBA.

September 24: Critical Mass is held on the last Friday of every month in over 300 cities around the world. While the ride was originally founded in 1992 in San Francisco with the idea of drawing attention to how unfriendly the city was to cyclists, the leaderless structure of Critical Mass makes it impossible to assign it any one specific goal. In fact, the purpose of Critical Mass is not formalized beyond the direct action of meeting at a set location and time and traveling as a group through city or town streets on bikes. Meet at Bloor and Spadina at 6PM, ride leaves at 6:30PM.

September 25: Evergreen Brickworks Grand Opening Come celebrate with us with music, food, exciting exhibits, wonderful workshops, terrific tours and plenty of family fun. Clay & Paper Theatre will be on hand with giant puppets and music at 1:30PM Evergreen Brickworks, 550 Bayview Avenue, South of Pottery Road.

Eglington Hill Fair. Join us for family fun and festivities, including CYCLOPS with giant puppets! Eglinton and Keele, 4:30-6:30PM.

September 26: PS Kensington: Earth! Global Harvest Traditions In celebration of the bounty of the earth, we’ll exchange seeds, meet our farmers, and enjoy a feast of local foods, and learn a harvest dance. Come see CYCLOPS perform “Human and Bicycle: A Love Story”,“Oil Cantastoria”, “The Greedy Fisherman“, “Bicycle Revolution!” and Bowmafridgeamaphone music right on Augusta Avenue from 12-6PM.

October 1: Art Gallery of Hamilton World Film Festival Clay & Paper Theatre will be on hand with stilts and giant puppets, animating crowds at The Art Gallery of Hamilton for AGH World Film Festival. 8:30PM – Midnight.

October 2: No Fare is Fair Street Party/Picnic Come to the park to celebrate the campaign to promote free and accessible transit for the GTA. Enjoy food, puppets and entertainment. Christie Pitts, Bloor and Christie Streets. 1-4PM.
