Join/Renew with Cycle Toronto, Win a Bike!

Cycle Toronto has started their second Refer-A-Rider campaign (it runs to Oct 31) and I’m going  to try and win the campaign to win the great Bobbin Daytripper bike from Curbside Cycle that is first prize. (or, if I place 2nd or 3rd – competition is fierce, after all – it will be a Bobbin Birdie)

If I win the Bobbin Bike, it is not for me.  IT IS FOR YOU!

Anyone that signs up (or renews) with Cycle Toronto via the link on my campaign page will get entered into the draw to win the Bike.  I don’t really need a new bike, so I’ll use it to encourage membership in Cycle Toronto.

Bobbin Daytripper Details:

The Daytripper is your reliable, everyday, best mate of a bike. Its a slim steel frame (we know you boys are obsessed), complemented by practical Bobbin elements like hub gears, a chainguard and mudguards. The Daytripper will save you from maintenance, trouser clips, dangling your groceries off your bars and failing to cool on a fixie. Plus, the upright position means you can sneak in a little window shopping or reflection check whilst at traffic lights.

Bobbin Birdie Details:

The Birdie is our most popular bike and we have thousands of women swishing around town and along country lanes on it’s trademark colourful frames.

With it’s no-fuss 3 speed hub gears, mudguards and rear rack, the Birdie is practical, easy to look after and magically smooth to ride. And with a colour spectrum Mary Quant would be proud of, it’s getting a reputation for dropping jaws and turning heads from Islington to Echo Park. Pick it up: it feels surprisingly light too!

Cycle Toronto is an organization that is advocating for new and better bike infrastructure (and saving the infrastructure we already have), you will awesome get fantastic member benefits like discounts at bike stores and restaurants.

I’ve lined up some other prizes to go in this draw as well.

Please join or renew (just use the same email you’re currently signed up with, and you’ll have a year added onto the end of your membership) with Cycle Toronto by clicking here.  Let me give you a bike!

Submit your Tweed Photos for a Prize!

The Tweed Ride is hastily approaching (next Saturday, Oct. 15) and if you’re interested in the most stylish and civilized ride Toronto has seen in decades, you need to register to ride.  Online registration closes on Wed, Oct. 12.

Your $15 registration fee gets you:

  • Official participation in Toronto’s first annual Tweed Ride

  • Swag Bag
  • A Swinging After-Party at Dovercourt House.

People are putting together their Tweed outfits (or outfits inspired by a bygone era), and we want to see photos of what you are planning!

In fact, we want to see your outfits so much (and have your outfits inspire others), that we’re having a photo contest (which also closes on Wed. Oct. 12)…. all you need to do is “tweet” your photo to our @TweedRideTO twitter account, or email them to info@bikingtoronto.com and you’re entered!

Prizes! The winner of the photo contest will win a Basil Memories Basket and a Giro Bike Helmet, courtesy of the Urbane Cyclist Co-op.

Here’s a few photos to get you started…. submit a photo to win!

Yvonne Bambrick, Mike Brcic, Kristen Corbet, David Miller, Tanya Smith, Casie Stewart and Ryan Smith

This is me, trying out some tweedy clothes.  Yes, I don’t usually have a beard… the things I do/grow for Tweed! haha.
