Last week, the Bad Girls Bike Club was featured on BikingToronto (and in the Metro newspaper). On Saturday they had their first ride, and one of the club leads, Lavinia Tanzim, sent in this report of the ride:
The Bad Girls Bike Club had it’s official launch this past Saturday, and what a perfect day it was for our first ride! The weather was balmy and the streets were clear of cars from everyone escaping the city on a long weekend. After a quick workshop on bike chain and tire maintenance, we set off on our ride to the Waterfront. The route itself was a great introductory ride for participants since they had the opportunity to try riding on a combination of main roads, bike lanes, side roads and multi-use trails.
The Bad Girls Bike Club meets every Saturday at Sweet Pete’s Bike Shop (517 Bloor St W) at 6:30pm. If you’re looking to learn more about biking in the city or just want to get some experience riding around, join our rides! Hope to see you at the next one!
