INFRASTRUCTURE: Construction Crews rip up bike posts (with bikes still attached)

The above photo circulated on Facebook a few days ago.  Apparently a construction crew needed to do work at Peter and Adelaide streets, so a bike being locked to a bike post was a casualty.  This should NOT happen.  EVER.

Either the bike was abandoned (which, judging from the tires in the photo, which still have air in them, it isn’t), in which case the city should have tagged it with a removal notice, especially if work was planned for the area…

OR

The bike was not abandoned, so WHY did this happen?
