Separated bike lanes planned in Eglinton re-design

Great news coming out of public consultations on what Eglinton may look like following construction of the Crosstown LRT.

The above is a rendering of what Eglinton may look like, complete with green separated bikelanes.  It looks like a made-up part of the street, as I recognized those blue awnings from being from LOCATION.  Here’s what that part of Eglinton looks like on Streetview:

So, great news, and here’s am excerpt from a Dandyhorse piece about the public consultations:

The designers’ guiding principles follow from their acceptance of Complete Streets. What that means for cyclists is that separated bicycle lanes (cycle tracks) are part of the plan for almost the entire LRT route. The exception being in Scarborough, where a previous Environmental Assessment, completed in 2010, made provisions only for regular bike lanes.
