May 9 – June 6: Art on Bikes

Bike Month 2013

This five week workshop with Amish Morrell explores the idea of the bicycle as a social and artistic medium, a tool for emancipation, a time machine, a research vehicle, and a way of engaging the body’s relationship to space. The workshop will explore ways of using the bicycle to structure movement through our immediate surroundings, riding to visit artists’ studios, and through and to interesting locations that are within cycling distance of the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Because this workshop happens in the evening and on bicycles, your bike must be in safe operating order, with front and rear lighting. Participants should wear clothing that either has reflecting striping, clothes that are light-colored, or a reflective sash or vest.

This DIY bicycle repair shop is based out of the St. George campus and is open to everyone on […]
