Man encourages cycling to Pearson airport

Schwartz, who works in technology consulting and blogs about cycling on the side, wanted to try biking to the airport for a long time. He flies every few weeks for work.

“But it hasn’t been practical because my other bike doesn’t support a big suitcase,” he said.

Schwartz decided to ride his cargo bike to the airport for his Oct. 21 flight and mapped out his route on Google Maps before he left.

He completed the ride, which he said was relatively smooth until he became trapped between four lanes of cars, in less than two hours. He plans to cycle to and from the airport from now on.

“It’s just more pleasant than sitting on the TTC or in the back of a taxi,” he said.
