This past Saturday was the latest edition of the co-ed Sweet Rides I plan with Hyedie of the Girls Cupcake Rides. We did it up with Frozen Yogurt Style and it was a great day! Perfect weather, a great group of people, and great frozen yogurt businesses. We even ended the ride with full on bicycle-love at MEC’s BikeFest at the Distillery District.
People gathering at Menchies in the Annex:
Getting our FroYo on. Here’s me with Rannie of photojunkie.ca
Menchies Staff were great:
Hitting the road:
Gotta Love the Railpath!
Then we got to Gurts on Roncy. Delicious!
Why do smart businesses say yes to a visit from the Sweet Ride? Everyone buys, and you get a big crowd in front of your establishment.
Over the Sunnyside Bridge. This is one of my very favourite views on a bike in Toronto.
Along the Martin-Goodman Trail:
Ended up at the MEC BikeFest at the Distillery District. Huge line for Cycle Toronto’s Bike Valet service.
Thanks so much to everyone who came out. The Sweet Ride is about food and about bikes, but it’s the people who come out that make the rides great.
As always, big thanks to my co-organizer Hyedie of the Girls Cupcake Ride, her knowledge of the West End helped us get around, and planning rides with her is a lot of fun (and I try to make everything I do fun, because life is too short to have it be otherwise).
- The next Sweet Ride is scheduled for Saturday, August 18th. We haven’t decided on a food theme yet, but it’ll be delicious.
- If you’re female, be sure and check out Hyedie’s next Girls Cupcake Ride on Saturday July 21st.
- To be informed of future rides, like us on Facebook (Biking Toronto, Cupcake Ride) and follow us on Twitter (@bikingtoronto, @cupcakeride)
