Art Spin 2011 Starts on Thurs, June 30

Art Spin – a series of bicycle led art tours prepares for the first tour of the 201 1 season!
Art Spin is a guided bicycle led an tour” that weaves through Toronto’s west end art districts. After two
successful seasons, Art Spin is gearing up for it’s third, and is thrilled to invite you to join us. Each outing visits artist’s studios, galleries, artist run centres and other unique venues and spaces. This interactive and exciting community based art event allows participants to experience art by established and emerging artists in unique settings, with performances, installations and other site specific works prepared specifically for each Art Spin tour.

Art Spin promises a range of art experiences .. and our first tour of the season taking place on Thursday, June 30th, includes everything from a gallery visit of Birch Liberalto to a unique vocal performance by Charlotte Munday and Alex Samaras, and will be led by trumpeting cyclist Michael L Johnson. Other stops this month a stop at Diaz Contemporary, a special tour of Walnut Studios, a performance by the Rsdiant Brass Ensemble and a visit to Artscape’s Shaw St Centre with several performances and installations.. and a meet and greet and after party to follow.

On the last Thursday of the month from june to August, Art Spin meets at the gate to Trinity Bellwoods Park at Queen St. & Strachan Ave. The tour departs at 7 sharp, and wraps up around 9., or join us around 6:30 to Art-Up your bike and participate in the fix-it session counesy of Bike Pirates. Art Spin is a free event, and anyone regardless of age of cycling ability is welcome.

Join us on Thursday, june 30th, Thursday, July 28th and Thursday, August 25th.
