Bixi Toronto Launches at 11 AM at Ryerson

It looks like the weather is not co-operating for Bixi Toronto Launch Day, but as far as I know, the “Launch Event” planned for this morning at 11 on Gould just east of Yonge on the Ryerson Campus is still a “go”:

The launch event will see over 40 GTA cyclists cross Yonge Street and arrive at our event headquarters on Gould Street at 11:00 a.m., to help celebrate the launch of BIXI in Toronto. In attendance will be cycling fans and VIPs from the cycling community, City of Toronto officials and BIXI sponsors from TELUS and Desjardins. There will be plenty of amazing photo opportunities and interviews available on-site to document this milestone event as we welcome 1,000 BIXI bikes and 80 pick-up stations to the streets of Toronto.

WHAT: Launch celebration for BIXI Toronto bicycle share service

WHERE: Just east of the intersection of Yonge Street and Gould Street (on the campus of Ryerson University)

WHEN: Tuesday, May 3rd with an event kick-off at 11:00 a.m.

VIDEO: A DIY repair shop created by students for students

A great video introduction to U of T’s BikeChain from Global News (except there’s an ad that runs before it): ‘Bikechain’ was created in 2005 as a student project serving the University of Toronto student community. This DIY bicycle repair shop is based out of the St. George campus and is open to everyone on […]
