Finch Ave. West to Bloor St. West and Avenue Road

A Todd Tyrtle route across the 401, as described here in a comment he left in The Blog: “Video: Across The Great Wall (of freeways) on Bicycle“.

Article at The Blog that accompanies this map: ‘The Great Wall’ – Highway 401 – cyclists describe ways across the busiest highway in the North America.

Hallam and Dufferin to Bloor St East and Sherbourne.

This is another east/west route that avoids Bloor St. West and the core and comes to Bloor St East at Sherbourne. I started this map at Hallam St. because everyone should know about the Hallam St Bike lanes. Hallam connects with Harbourd bike lane with a suicide zig zag down to Harbourd on Ossington. That turn at Ossington is dangerous and usually very busy with car traffic is a ‘get to’ for cars into the core. Not for bikes. So I suggest north at Shaw (which is a one way south) up to Dupont which also has a bike lane take that to Yonge and through Rosedale to Sherbourne.

Hallam (Bike Lane) up Shaw (one way south) to Dupont (Bike Lane) and Dufferin to Bloor St East (Bike Lane) and Sherbourne (Bike Lane).

Sherbourne and Queen’s Quay to Eglington and Mt. Pleasant

The Bicycle Route Mapping Wiki Project

A way up the east side of the core. Notice the big problem just above bloor to just below St Clair, that's Mt Pleasant which is a hyway and a kill zone for bikes.

Greenwood and Dundas St. East to King St. West and Spadina via Queen’s Quay

The Bicycle Route Mapping Wiki Project
Dawn a Biking Toronto member asked me to make a map that would avoid King St. through the core (see her map), because it is really dangerous most times of the day – especially at the rush hours when she commutes to work.

This is my solution, it adds 1.6 km to the commute but as soon as your at the bottom of Sherbourne St. you can smell the lake and feel the waves; the air is clean and it’s a good way to start your day – very relaxing. It’s a good way to end your day as well – you can stop for a coffee at Tim Horton’s at 207 Queen’s Quay West at the foot of York St., sit at the Ferry Docks and watch yur ship come in ;). It’s beautiful down there. :)
